Joint 50th/60th Celebration December 2008
The December meeting was another special event in the Lodge calendar. It marked Alan Proudlove’s 60th year in freemasonry, and Peter Gayward’s 50th year. Alan (now Emeritus Professor) started his Masonic career in the Lodge three months after graduating. Peter (formerly Registrar at the University of Liverpool) began in Entebbe, Uganda while serving in the Colonial Service. The photograph shows certificates being presented by Michael Hedley Hill in the lodge room.

A milestone in the Lodge's history. The first Master (David Goddard) to serve 3 terms and to be installed by Proclamation, and the first double initiation for over 40 years (when incidentally David was one of the candidates).
